The new 992 Porsche 911 Carrera
The new 992 eighth generation Porsche 911 has unveiled. Porsche design DNA revealed a familiar shape mixed of old an new it looks more muscular, timeless and modern. The new 992’s new exterior design brings a number of important suspension changes. The new 992 has a new platform, with a new gearbox, interior and heavily revised engine. The body constructed from a combination of different steels, structure with a greater amount of aluminium.
Exterior body is now also aluminium. Porsche provides with added agility and improved high speed stability. Exterior is more muscular appearance and wider wheel housings arch over the 20 inch front wheels and 21 inch rear wheels. The rear end is now the same width across all models, 992 is slightly longer than the 991 and 992 is lighter than the 991.
The centre screen is now 10.9 inches, and can be operated quickly and without distraction. The standard PCM features include online navigation based on swarm data as well as Porsche Connect Plus. An autonomous driving in certain conditions work with radar cruise control and linked with Night Vision Assist and the Emergency Assist system.
The turbocharged flat six engine 3.0 liter twin turbo has 443 horsepower and 390 lb ft torque of the 911 Carrera S and 911 Carrera 4S. The new 992 engine is an increase of 22 kW (30 PS) compared with the previous model 991. The 0-100 km/h numbers are the Coupé rear wheel drive takes 3.7 seconds and the 911 Carrera 4S with all wheel drive just 3.6 seconds. This makes both 992 generation is 0.4 seconds faster than the previous 991 model in each case.
